The town has submitted for an Energy Grant to place new airconditioners in public buildings
the town has Received a PARTF GRANT FOR 2007/008 FOR $82,123.00. THIS WILL BE PHASE II OF PARK PROJECT. THIS WILL COMPLETE OUR PARK PROJECTS.
The town of Black Creek has received a NC Rural Center Grant for $494,150 effective October 7, 2008.
The Town has received a $301,000 grant from the USDA for the water treatment plant.
The Town has received a $40,000 grant for sewer problems.
The planning board meets every 3rd Thursday of each month only if there is agenda for a

Cities and towns that achieved NCLM Green Challenge status were honored at the NCLM Annual Conference, October 25-27, 2009, at the
"Municipalities continue to lead the way in implementing sustainable operations and innovations that save energy, natural resources and money," said Morehead City Mayor Jerry Jones, 2008-2009 NCLM president. "The League is proud to honor these cities and towns that have made tough decisions that will have a positive impact on their communities, citizens, region and state for years to come."
The NCLM Green Challenge was the brainchild two years ago of then-NCLM President Susan Burgess, Charlotte council member, as a way to honor those municipalities that have taken the initiative to conserve energy and natural resources at the local government level.

"We will no doubt see municipal officials from these cities and towns share their good ideas with others over the next months and years so that more communities can save energy, natural resources and the taxpayers' money."

Black Creek is located in Wilson County, NC very close to the NC 264 by-pass and a short driving distance to I-95 and the new Hwy 117 and new Interstate 795. It is only a 5 minute drive from Wilson, and only a one hour drive from the capital of NC, Raleigh.
Our town is open to visitors and new families who would like to relocate in a nice safe area, within easy driving distance to important locations, with excellent police service, a fabulous park for families to enjoy, picnic area for picnics and re-unions, and a very nice community building to rent and have re-unions, parties, weddings, ets.
